About Me
My name is Tarra Braunscheidel and I am from Tiffin, Ohio. I have held multiple positions within the education and school systems. I have been a full time substitute teacher for various K-12 school buildings as well as worked as a Middle School Counselor in Maumee, Ohio. I have also taught kindergarten and first grade as part of the Ohio Migrant Education Program for 3 years as well. In my spare time I love playing with my dog Buddy, running, hiking, cooking, doing yoga, and just about anything else outside! Education Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. While in Cincinnati I became a Division I Cheerleading representative for the Men’s Basketball Team for 3 years. With this experience I attended several NCAA Basketball Tournaments including many trips to the Elite 8 and Sweet 16 games. Masters of Art in Counseling with a School Concentration from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio. I graduated from the university in May 2013. While at Heidelberg University I was the Cheerleading Coach as well for 3 consecutive years. Counseling Experiences This is my fourth year as a school counselor. The first three years I worked at Gateway Middle School in Maumee, Ohio. While at Gateway I developed a comprehensive school counseling program. Through individual and group counseling I addressed personal, social and academic issues for my caseload of 300 students. I utilized a needs assessment to drive the counseling program and developed classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and parent workshops. Within my experience I assisted in revising the school counseling curriculum, evaluation system, and a Crisis Response plan as part of indirect services within my district. As much as I loved my old home in Maumee, I feel lucky to have found a new home at Little Miami. |
